Hi Everyone! My name is Paige Webster and I am a current senior at California State University San Marcos. I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan but moved to Wilsonville, Oregon when I was six years old. I moved from the snow to the rain, and I think this is where my love of rain developed. From the age of six until I was twelve I went to school in Oregon. That was where I attended Beckmen Elementary School and Wilsonville Middle school, but only for one year. The summer before seventh grade my family decided to move to Southern California, Murrieta to be specific. That is where I attended Thompson Middle School and went on to Murrieta Valley High School. I graduated from Murrieta Valley in 2005 when I was eighteen years old. From there I moved down to San Marcos to attend California State San Marcos, where I currently am today. I am twenty one years old and in my last year of college, life has been an amazing journey so far and I am sure it will only get better.
I have been using different types of technology my entire life. I am a manic myspacer and frequent facebooker, checking my emails as much as possible, including when I am at work. At my home and work I use a PC but the more I see of the Mac's the more I like them. My work computer just switched over to the new 2007 version of windows and I am beginning to fall in love with that over the older version. My daily usage of computers boils down to checking my e-mails, doing homework and surfing the web. I have moved on to somewhat of impressive skills when it comes to making power point presentations for class or using Microsoft excel at my work. I also am able to check my bank statements online and pay my bills without wasting paper. My highest accomplishment with the computer thus far is my mastery of online shopping, AIMing, and celebrity stalking. I don't really have very high tech skills, but I love to learn different applications, you know to impress all my friends.
The California State San Marcos College of Education Mission Statement reads "our practices demonstrate a commitment to student-centered education, diversity...". I really like this part of the statement. The idea of basing lesson plans around the needs of the students is the best way to insure that they learn the subject matter. Also I am a big believer in teaching diversity. That through the efforts of opening up younger generations eyes to different types of people and different worlds racism and prejudice will eventually be eliminated. Shaping the minds of newer generations is the most important job a teacher has and this part of the mission statement really exemplifies the values that will help future educators achieve this goal.

Haha Paige, you're a funny writer. I used to live in Oregon too when I was younger, though I barely remember it, so I guess that doesn't count.
Hello Paige my dear. I had no idea were lived in the snow. That is awesome!
Hi Paige! Your are lucky to have lived in different states with different types of weather. Being a native San DIeagan, I have not had much expereince with excessive rain and snow. I definitely agree with your comment on online shopping!!!! Its one of my favorite aspects of the internet.
That's cool that you have gotten to live in different climates. I am surprised you love the rain. Most people can't get enough of sunny California. Ilike the rain too, but not it's because it doesn't rain much. I don't think I would like it as much if I lived in the Pacific Northwest
